Severe Burns Healed, No Scars
Friends,
This Wednesday let’s persist in our prayers for the Oil Spill. The topic will be: “The Clean-Up Continues.”
Last week we heard about a summer healing of severe burns when two girls were frying with hot oil. The one sister affected was completely healed through prayer, with no scars even today.
Hope to see you Wednesday evening at 7:30 in the Sunday School,

Fearless Prayer and Grateful Singing
Last Wednesday there were testimonies on integrity. One man said he’d apparently been cheated by the dealer who sold him a car, because the tinted windows proved too dark to pass inspection, although there was no reference to any tinted windows on the invoice. He feared he’d been “bilked” with no way to prove that he’d not been the one to apply the tinting. But as he prayed to see more of God’s idea, the perfect man, he had a clearer sense of the dealer’s essential integrity. When he brought the car to the dealer for the inspection, they admitted the car should never have been sold as is. They offered to remove the faulty tinting, replace it with acceptable tinting, and give him a loaner car in the interim. All at no cost to him. This was indeed “acceptable” to this happy customer. Other testimonies included healing of physical ailments at home and on vacation.
This coming Wednesday’s readings were inspired by a testimony a few weeks ago. A woman told how an abnormal growth was healed through fearless prayer and grateful singing.

OUR homes are “built on the rock”
Here we share some of the wonderful healings expressed last week at Wednesday’s service:
1. A man waiting for his flight from Rhode Island prayed to support two parents who were trying to get home to their children in flooded Nashville. Although their flight was going to be delayed or canceled, suddenly the announcement came for all to board, one hour ahead of the delayed schedule.
2. A mother prayed for her baby daughter whose illness seemed “scary.” The Bible passage “faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” came to her thought. She strengthened her own faith in God, good, and saw all evidence of illness fade away quickly.
3. A woman whose husband died unexpectedly found courage and peace about traveling alone. She later was rescued on a lonely road by a man who offered to take her friend to the airport and then return to fill her empty gas tank. He said he’d been led by the Spirit to stop and investigate the problem, all the while she’d been praying to bear witness to Love’s answer for her.
4. A man was startled to find a large bird in his office. Praying to see that the bird was indeed free, and that Love would show the creature the way out, the man felt a deep love for the bird. Suddenly the bird saw an open window and flew out. The man vowed to love all others, both people and creatures, with this same pure love.
5. A woman recalled a time when her basement was flooded— and this on Christmas Eve, a Friday night, with a house full of family and house guests. As she prayed, her eyes were opened to the fact that her house was “built on the rock,” the Christly understanding of Love itself, and could not be violated by floods or catastrophes. She called the authorities, and amazingly, while they were at dinner, the crew came quietly and unplugged the lines. The water receded quickly and no damage was done.

Praying for “New Life”
Friends,
Last Wednesday among several testimonies we heard people tell how prayer made supplies last through a period of unemployment and protected from disease in foreign lands.
This Wednesday evening in response to one of your suggestions and in light of continuing news about disasters around the world (in Haiti, Chile, Moscow, Baja, Sumatra, Baghdad, West Virginia), the readings will present “New Life” for these people.
If you can’t make it, why not e-mail me a testimony as others have done and be included in the healing record of our church?
Hope to see you Wednesday evening,

Calm During A Hurricane
At this week’s Wednesday (January 27th) evening service our topic is: “What are we afraid of? Timid Conservatism Inadmissible.”
Last Wednesday we heard from many about how they are praying for Haiti. As well, we heard testimonies of renewed lives after tragic losses, and one victory over fear when a loved one on a Windjammer could not be located during a severe hurricane. The mother prayed and was led to find the whereabouts of her daughter. The daughter and her friend had found shelter in the bathroom of their hotel room, and while windows were being blown out, they sang hymns in the bathtub until the storm subsided and calm was restored.

Challenges met and overcome through prayer!
Friends,
This Wednesday evening at 7:30 pm our topic is “Comfort in Times of Calamity: Prayer for the People of Haiti.”
Last Wednesday we heard about healings of: a swollen eardrum; life-threatening situations of disease and a motorcycle accident; fear of an emergency landing when an airplane had no landing gear; and horrible headaches of long-standing. Just think: all these challenges were met and overcome with prayer alone!
Are you concerned about a particular personal or world problem these days? Let me know and I would be happy to put together relevant readings from the Bible and our textbook on this subject for a Wednesday evening meeting. Some there will probably give testimonies of healing on that topic, and you’ll find comfort and encouragement. Two Wednesday readings have already been in response to suggestions.
CHILD CARE IS ALWAYS PROVIDED
IF YOU CAN’T BE THERE: YOU can support our healing work by e-mailing me your testimony. I’ll read it!
Thanks,

Do You Want To Know More About Healing?
Friends,
Do you want to know more about healing? Then come Wednesday evening at 7:30 pm where the topic is “Why Is Spiritual Healing Important?” and real people will give real experiences with spiritual healing.
Last Wednesday we heard healings of an alcoholic’s addiction to beer, life-threatening organic failure, cycles of guilt and overindulgence in sweets, feelings of inadequacy about public speaking, and many others.
Are you concerned about a particular personal or world problem these days? If you put your suggestion for a topic in my mailbox downstairs, I would be happy to put together relevant readings from the Bible and our textbook on this subject for a Wednesday evening meeting. Some there will probably give testimonies of healing on that topic, and you’ll find comfort and encouragement. Two Wednesday readings have already been in response to suggestions.

Prayer is Healing
Join us for our Wednesday evening church service!
The TOPIC for this Wednesday’s readings is “Heavenly Guidance.”
Our topics for the next two Wednesday meetings will continue to help us welcome the Christ-coming in this Advent season. The topics will be Heavenly Guidance, and Innocence based on Christmas carols.
Dec. 2: Joy to the World! (Joy)
Dec. 9: Star of Wonder (Guidance, Angels)
Dec. 16: Away in a Manger (Innocence, The Babe)
Last Wednesday we heard several testimonies of healing through prayer alone. Among them: a new spirit of good will at a man’s townhome association, after he prayed to “unsee” evidence of inharmony; a woman’s healing of both internal and mental suffering; another woman’s demonstration in trying to find her children’s lost shoes. She first turned to God in gratitude as she prayed. She vowed not to take a step unless she felt guided by Him. When she and the child reached the wall at the edge of the property, she was tempted to feel disappointed. Then she looked up…and saw the shoes on the wall!
IF YOU CAN’T BE THERE: You can support our healing work by emailing me your testimony. I’ll read it. We need it!! SUGGESTIONS for topics are welcome.
Thanks,
John Holland, First Reader
